I am Android

I'm an Android fan boy. Yes I am. Nope, I'm not talking about the character played by Daryl Hannah in the film Blade Runner(she's hot by the way...uuhhmmm 29 years ago).
Although it's interesting to have a human replica to address your sexual needs but I will not go as low as that if the technology comes around, and I'm very much happy with my sex life. Now going back. I'm talking about the mobile operating system that's sweeping the nation by storm. No, the whole world! Google's Android system.
At this point Android phones are being pitted against Apple's iPhone. Some says iPhone is way much better since it has already proven a lot. It's true that the Android is still in it's infancy and there are some features that clearly makes the iPhone the winner. But then again since Android is still starting out the way I see it, it might be heading the same direction as the iPhone has. Well to give you an insight according to Canalys a market research firm, Google's Android system topped it all last 2010 when it comes to market share. Here's the link http://www.canalys.com/pr/2011/r2011013.html. So you see, Android is eating away at Apple's iPhone. Nom nom nom nom nom!!

So enough of iPhone trashing because I'm not being paid to do that. It's just that I love how the Android system works since it's one of the most customizable systems in the smart phone market today. You have different widgets to play around with that you can put on your home screen which you may pattern to fit your lifestyle. So you can put widgets useful enough if you travel in and out of the country (read: time zones), have another profile if you're at the office or a profile for media junkies. And the functionalities doesn't compromise the style. There are also tons of very useful applications and one of my favorites is The MAP. Not Dora's map but Google Maps. I'm not saying that iPhone doesn't have the same app, but like what I've mentioned earlier the integration of functionality and style does not cancel each other out. It's not a phone with just a bunch of icons in it.

Anyway the latest update to the HTC Desire owners, like yours truly states that the HTC Desire, Desire HD and Desire Z will have a firmware update to Android 2.3.3 or aka gingerbread in the 2nd quarter of the year and that's according to HTC themselves. So that means, as far as I know the battery life will no longer be much of a problem as it is now. That's one of the drawbacks of the Android phones by the way. Battery life drains out faster than a speeding bullet. Well, that might be a little exaggerated but it's a fact. However it's better than losing your signal here and there...if you know what I mean. Well hopefully the update will fix the battery issues. There's a lot more to say but I'm running out of time so let me just show you a creepy advertisement of Sony Ericsson's Xperia play. It's an Android phone and PSP-like gaming platform in one.
